I picked up this bookmark on a recent visit to the Seven Stories museum of children’s books with Lizzie Pinard. We spent a brilliant two hours there, and I would highly recommend it to anyone in or around Newcastle-upon-Tyne, UK.
How would you use this bookmark in your classroom? You can make any assumptions you like about the context it is used in. Post your ideas in the comments below. All ideas are welcome (there are no wrong answers!)

Comments on: "Roald Dahl" (2)
[...] Roald Dahl [...]
I would ask my seven-year-old daughter to come to class with me. I would ask her to lend her Roald Dahl box set, which we’ve nearly finished -just The Witches and George’s Marvellous Medicine to go- to the class for three months. I’d set up a lending scheme and let the learners take a book each.
Why? Because Roald Dahl is a writer to let in the love of reading into non-readers lives. He writes plainly but his stories appeal to everyone. I would hope that between us, my daughter and I can persuade people that children’s literature is a brilliant way to start reading in another language, whether you’re seven or seventy.
